This past weekend (June 7-8) over 5,200 riders rode 200 km from Toronto to Niagara and raised $20 million for cancer research in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer. Not only was SpiderTech a sponsor, but we threw the towel in and decided to form a team to raise funds ourselves and contribute to the cause in every way we could. After all, nearly everyone knows someone close to them who had dealt with this deadly disease.
The newly formed charity team coined “Team SpiderTech” consisted of staff, friends, family, colleagues and of course new friends who joined. We’re proud to say that in our first year 133 team members raised $356,214 for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre!

We were humbled by their dedication, stories and commitment to contribute to such a good cause. The weekend was truly remarkable, inspiring, and embodied the perseverance you need to not only do the grueling 200 km, but to face cancer. Hundreds of people got taped up to battle day two and the back half of the 200 km cycling event and we were happy to help… we were getting taped up too!

Our hats are off to the Team SpiderTech riders and all riders. We are extraordinarily proud to have rode with them – shoulder-to-shoulder, in the heat, through the hills, the muscle cramps, and most importantly with smiles on our faces knowing that we are helping to make a difference.
