Top 3 Kinesiology Taping Tips for the Lower Leg Using the X Spider!
How to apply SpiderTech X Spider kinesiology tape for knee, ankle and hip discomfort
For side knee discomfort (see photo of cyclist, Hugo Houle) – Place the center of the X Spider directly over the most acute place of where it hurts, while the leg is outstretched. Follow by placing the four "arms" of the X directly out from the center, applying no stretch to the tape at all. Just STICK IT WHERE IT HURTS – it’s so effective you have to experience it to believe it!
For ankle discomfort – The four extending arms of the X Spider can shape around body contours and spread wide to cover a large area. So, you can use the X Spider on an ankle to promote support by placing the center of the X Spider directly over the most acute point of discomfort and then stretching the tape slightly around the ankle bone, to act as a support. Remember to always remove all skin oil, lotions and sunscreens first with an alcohol swab, so the kinesiology tape stays on for days.
For hip discomfort – Many people use our Hip Spider, which is also amazing, but in a pinch when all you have is your box of X Spiders, simply place the center of the X Spider over the central location of where it hurts, while the leg is outstretched and then gently place the four extending arms of the X Spider widely, to create the look of a fat X instead of a skinny one. Simple as that!
