How To Apply Elbow Pre-Cut Tape

The Elbow Spider can be applied on the outside or the inside of the elbow.

I'm going to show you how to apply the Spider to the outside of the elbow. For example, I have a little elbow pain from carrying grocery bags home. This area is also called Tennis Elbow. This is a pretty common term that people hear, even though you might not play tennis. It's also called lateral or outside elbow pain.

The pre-cut has numbered instructions. All you have to do is follow the numbers one through four.

  1. Fold along the black lines and tear the paper apart. Make sure you tear through the whole paper so that you don't get stuck with the tape stuck to itself when you take off each section.

  2. Make sure that the skin is prepared well. That means free of hair, lotions, oils, creams and sweat.

  3. Section one will come over the outside of the elbow, just above where you can feel a bone pop out when you bend your elbow. Mark where that area is and straighten your arm out.

  4. Tear off the paper backing on section one without touching the adhesive. Lay section one above the bone on the outside elbow. Rub over the tape to make sure the glue is setting on the skin.

  5. Peel the backing off of section two and lay it down on the skin without any stretch. Do the same on the other side. You always want to rub over the top of the tape to activate the glue so that each section is well set before you move on.

  6. Section three goes over the bony prominence just on the outside of the elbow. Flip the rest of the Spider over, and pop off section three from the paper. Hold on to section four tabs and lay section three down without any stretch.

  7. The outside section four projection heads towards the pinky finger, the other heads towards the thumb. Tear off the paper backing, leave a little tab and lay it down with no stretch. Repeat on the other side.

  8. Once you're done, rub over the whole application to make sure that it's set.
